KENNY CHESNEY'S "WILD CHILD" CLAIMS THE COUNTRY CHARTS TOP SPOT

Third Straight No.1 from The Big Revival Is Grace Potter’s first No.1

Nashville, Tenn. (June 15, 2015) - Kenny Chesney knew he wanted to say some things that weren’t being said when he went in to make The Big Revival. One thing that was important to him was celebrating the potency of women’s spirits, hearts, and souls – beyond whatever physical attributes they might also have – and he wrote “Wild Child,” a dreamy ballad that once again features Grace Potter, to do just that.

Ironically, as Bonnaroo 2015 breaks camp for another year, the song that celebrates the storied music festival as well as Burning Man, hits No. 1 on the Billboard and Mediabase Country Singles charts - marking the first time since Hemingway’s Whiskey that Chesney has seen his first three singles top the charts. It is also the very first No. 1 for Grace Potter, who shared a GRAMMY nomination with Chesney for “You & Tequila.”

“I knew this was a very special song when I finished writing it with Shane (McAnally) and Josh (Osborne),” Chesney allows. “It was everything I wanted to say about what makes a woman alluring...about those things that capture your imagination and make you want to be closer. It certainly wasn’t the norm of what was happening with country radio, but it felt like something I wanted people to remember, to think about.

“We didn’t know how it was going to do, especially right now when ballads are everything people aren’t listening to, but we believed in the song. I wanna say ‘thank you’ to country radio for thinking outside the box. Your support made this possible.”

Currently on tour with The Big Revival, Chesney sold a million tickets before ever playing the first note. Having headlined Florida’s Country Superfest on Sunday night to record-breaking crowds, he broke his own attendance record in Pittsburgh and is playing to unprecedented crowds and reviews, including The Dallas Morning News who quantified the singer as “Two parts Mick Jagger, one part Bruce Springsteen, one part Billy Graham.”

But ultimately, it is the fans who make the tours and respond to the songs. For Chesney, enjoying his 12th year as a headliner, it is the spirit of “Wild Child” that defines his fans, the No Shoes Nation, and the best of every woman he sees when he looks out from the stage.

“To me, a girl who is so alive, so in the moment, so curious and hungry for life...There’s nothing like her,” Chesney said of the song’s inspiration. “You can’t tie 'em down. So free...and so intense because of it. Nothing is more attractive. To me, that makes women really special. Whether they want to live in the mountains, become a doctor, play music in Hawaii, surf around the world, whatever their passion is, that is what drives them – and man, it’s an amazing thing.

“When we wrote this, I knew we needed Grace Potter’s voice on there, because she is everything the song is about. That it gets to be her first Number One record somehow seems so right, because the song is her, as well as so many other women and young girls that I know.”

Marking his 27th No. 1, Chesney continues creating the songs that hold people’s lives. With the GRAMMY and multiple Academy of Country Music nominated “American Kids” and the invitation to live every moment to the hilt “Til It’s Gone” already topping the charts, The Big Revival proves another core sample of who country fans are and the moments that matter most.

KENNY CHESNEY "CRUSHES" PITTSBURGH ... OVER 200 BOATS ... "JURASSIC WORLD" AND A NEW RECORD

The advance coverage began almost two weeks prior in anticipation of Kenny Chesney’s 8th sold-out appearance at Heinz Field. The No Shoes Nation navy, eventually numbering well over 200 boats, began dropping anchor Tuesday evening... Local filmmakers even created a “Jurassic World” teaser clip, featuring the country star towering over the iconic football field, which went viral.

By the time, the time the man the Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road” hit the stage at 9:11 Saturday night, Pittsburgh was primed and ready to rock. With attendance of 55,381, Chesney broke his own attendance record – set in 2007 at just over 54,000. So much erroneous information has been reported around the venue, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette addresses the discrepancies with a May 25 Pop Noise column.

Not that any of it mattered to the 8-time Entertainer of the Year. Following his New Orleans funeral/voodoo-themed “Big Revival” opening film and the “Jurassic World” online clip, Chesney took to the sky, leaning into “Reality” as he was transported over the fans’ heads on a high wire. His hard-hitting, almost two-hour set didn’t slow down for a moment the entire night.

The Post-Gazette wrote Chesney “let loose on stage, he was in constant motion with rousing sing-along faves like ‘Beer in Mexico,’ ‘Keg In The Closet’ and ‘Summertime’ and well-received new ones ‘Til It’s Gone’ and ‘American Kids.’ His white-hot Nashville band got way more wattage than the openers to fill the stadium with screaming guitars and crushing beats.”

“Heinz Field was the first wave of NFL Stadiums I played after (Knoxville’s) Neyland Stadium. The Pittsburgh fans have so much heart, grit and muscle, they almost shove you off the stage,” Chesney says of his perennial tour stop where the Three Rivers meet. “We’ve had some amazing shows this year, so I knew we were ready and hungry for Pittsburgh.”

As a warm-up, the high-energy songwriter/performer worked out with many of the Steelers on Friday – and had several team members as his guest at Saturday’s show. After a heartfelt tribute to the Rooney Family, who own the storied team, then launched into his all-heart high school football homage “Boys of Fall,” including having legendary player Ben Roethlisberger come up to help him present the evening’s helmet.

“We were ready, the No Shoes Nation was readier,” Chesney said immediately after his sweat-soaked show. “They throw it at us, and it drives us even further. Whatever they give, we wanna give back, and man, that was some night out there. I got to do ‘When I See This Bar’ with Eric Church – and that’s always special because it says everything about what people like the No Shoes Nation find in the music. Even that horrible storm that had trees down didn’t blunt their enthusiasm in any way. It was crazy in Heinz Field.”

Kicking off the Corona Light-sponsored The Big Revival 2015 Tour with two sold-out shows in Nashville, the velocity of this 20-stadium 55-city trek has not slowed. With The Dallas Morning News proclaiming, “Two parts Jagger, one part Bruce Springsteen and one part Billy Graham” after his unrelenting AT&T Texas Stadium show, Chicago’s Soldier Field needs to get ready for Saturday’s show.

GET READY FOR THE BIG REVIVAL - KENNY CHESNEY STRIPS DOWN, RAMPS UP FOR 1ST TOUR IN ALMOST 2 YEARS

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 18, 2015) - Kenny Chesney’s been locked down for close to two months, getting ready for his 2015 The Big Revival Tour. After walking offstage at Gillette Stadium after two sold-out nights, he made the decision to devote his next year to making his record. But time off the road didn’t mean the 8-time Entertainer of the Year’s heart wasn’t itching to be out there playing.

“Once the album was done, I started thinking about the stage, the set list – ‘cause this new music really got me inspired – and how we could make it mean even more!” Chesney says with a laugh. “And you know, I can’t stand being away from the fans! They fire me up. That’s why we decided to throw a stadium show on the beach at the FloraBama line – just the world’s biggest Keg In The Closet show – so I could see the No Shoes Nation doing what they do best.”

In that spirit, Chesney began figuring how to present his music with new intensity. The same care that went into The Big Revival, his 13th No. 1 Country Album debut that’s yielded the GRAMMY-nominated multiple week No. 1 “American Kids,” No. 1 “Til It’s Gone” and the fast-rising free-spirit affirming “Wild Child” with Grace Potter, was applied to what may be the hardest hitting tour yet from the man The Wall Street Journal proclaimed “The King of the Road.”

“Every time, I want people to have the best night of their lives...,” Chesney explains. “I take that very seriously. I’ve heard enough stories about people planning their summer about coming to see us, and when you know that, you wanna always give ’em more and better, trying to think what else? But, you know, these songs are the reason people come – and I don’t ever want to take away from the music.”

Chesney scoured the globe looking for the most cutting edge ways to present the music. The PA – providing clearer sound at stadium sized levels – is from Australia; the first of its kind being used in the States. The Clay Paky Mythos lighting system is also a North American first, brought over from Italy after a late night “shoot out” in a parking lot from the company’s Bergamo factory that clearly proved to add a deeper and brighter dimension to the overall lighting package.

“It’s all part of it,” Chesney says. “How it looks, how it sounds, how you feel. I had the time to really seek out what was special... really find things that are innovative; even if it’s just the quality they deliver. I’ve got some of the best people in the business out on The Big Revival Tour, folks who’ve worked for Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Lady Gaga... They get putting music across in big places, but they also understand that to me – and the fans – the songs are important.”

The video screens are some of the biggest and most impressive on the road right now. Delivering over 2,300,000 pixels, there are six hand-held cameras, a jib for the stadiums and two robotic point of view cameras – all controlled from a central position and called live every single night, allowing for maximum spontaneity. The additional footage has been shot in New Orleans, Mexico, the Caribbean, Maui, Positano, the road, the fans and anywhere people come together in the name of music.

Having sold in excess of a million tickets on each of his headlining tours, Chesney is the only Country Artist in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 years – with only 12 years as a headliner – for a reason. Hardcore, hands on, he drives his music higher and further every year. When Chesney’s 2015 tour – 22 stadiums and a whole lotta arenas strong – hits Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena March 26 and 27, it’s gonna be even more focused, more live, more music than before. All-in, full-throttle, get ready for The Big Revival, indeed!

KENNY CHESNEY AND BAND HEAD TO SPRING TRAINING THIS WEEK

With Chesney’s The Big Revival Tour Set to Kick-Off March 26, Musicians Are Gearing Up

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2015) - It’s not just baseball players shaking off the off-season. As the sport’s biggest stars head to the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues to gear up for the Major and American League Baseball season, country music’s biggest star is bringing his band together for their first musical rehearsals in over two years.

With The Big Revival Tour slated to be one of Chesney’s biggest and most musical yet, the 4-time CMA and 4-time ACM Entertainer of the Year is locking down for four full weeks before the band kicks things off with a sold-out two night stand at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena March 26-27. Nearly two-dozen NFL-sized stadiums plays slated will be part of this year’s tour – and the songwriter/superstar can’t wait to get back out there.

“I’ve always said we’re a lot like a baseball team,” Chesney admits. “We’re six months on, six months off... and a lot of time to get ready. But you know, when it’s all heart and so physically demanding, there’s really no other way to do this.

“When we rolled into Pensacola last year for the FloraBamaJama, I was amazed how well we all came together. But it also showed how hungry everybody was to play. I knew when we all got back together, it would rock. So I can’t wait to get into the room with everybody.”

Having spent a year creating The Big Revival, his 13th No. 1 Billboard Country release, Chesney has been able to devote the same time to crafting this year’s show. Look for new songs, old songs and some surprises as well as the inclusion of the Academy of Country Music Single, Song and Video of the Year nominee “American Kids.”

“It’s funny how much energy this new music has brought to everybody,” Chesney marvels. “You don’t realize until you stop what the treadmill feels like, and when you really challenge yourself to push the music... You find things like ‘American Kids,’ ‘Rock Bottom’ and write things like ‘Wild Child.’ That freshness in the music is something I think every single band member has commented to me about.”

Having already yielded his 25th and 26th No. 1s with the two week chart-topper “American Kids” and “’Til It’s Gone,” “Wild Child,” Chesney’s duet with hippie rocker Grace Potter, moved ten spots – from No. 36 to No. 26 at Billboard and No. 43 to No. 33 on Mediabase – in only its third week.

Rolling Stone recognized the renewed verve of The Big Revival, writing it “continuously brings a sense of emotional urgency.” Certainly it’s something the man The Wall Street Journal called “The King of the Road” is sensing.

“When we were talking about what songs to play, a couple of us were imaging how the fans are going to respond to the new stuff – and everyone was like ‘Oh, yeah...’ Because I think as fired up as the crowds have always been, this year’s set is going to take everything to a whole other level. And that’s one thing about the No Shoes Nation: they come to have the time of their lives – and the beauty of my band is they’re determined to make it the best night of the summer.”

Chesney, who has sold over a million tickets each of his headlining tours, is the only country act in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years. The Big Revival Tour, presented by Corona Light and sponsored by Blue Chair Bay, looks to be no exception.

KENNY CHESNEY SELLS OUT THE BIG REVIVAL TOUR KICK OFF

Two Nashville Shows Go Clean Upon On-Sale

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2015) - It’s been a long time since Kenny Chesney played his adopted hometown of Nashville – and the fervor continues. After pre-sales pressure for his March 26 kick-off of 2015 The Big Revival Tour prompted the addition of a second show on March 27, the tickets were no more available than they were gone.

“Getting ready for a big year and I love the idea that people are as ready for us to get out there as we are to get back on the road,” says the only country artist in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Past 25 Years. “To do back-to-back nights in Nashville, that’s always a good thing... It’s too cold for a stadium show, so that’s the next best thing!”

Having played to 42,000+ at his Flora-Bama-Jama on the beach along the Alabama/Florida state line last August, Chesney’s time off the road was spent focusing on the making The Big Revival, which has already yielded the GRAMMY-nominated multiple week #1 “American Kids” and his 26th chart-topper “'Til It’s Gone.”

With a lot of new music slated for the tour, the eight-time Entertainer of the Year wanted to start things off close to home – and be able to share the new music and new show with old friends--as he says of the decision to start where he lives. As he explains, “Sometimes it seems like Nashville lands where it lands... and it doesn’t stand out. We don’t get to play Nashville very often, and after the inspiration and creativity that went into making this record, I wanted to kick-off The Big Revival Tour in the place the music came together.

“And the fact that we had to add a second show before we even got the tickets on sale feels like this is going to be an awesome year! To me, it’s about the passion the people who love this music bring. They give us the fuel to really push – and I promise we’re working on creating a really rocking show!”

Due to unprecedented demand, the promoters worked with management to locate as many tickets as possible. Having combed through all the potential seats, several hundred seats with obstructed views are being made available for those hardcore fans who couldn’t get tickets.

“Anyone who wants to come, we want you to be here with us!” the man The Wall Street Journal called “The King of the Road” offers. “After a year and a half off since we’ve really been on the road, I think this is going to be one of the shows where the band and I let off a lot of steam. We have new songs to play, a few surprises – and the idea that we want to take The Big Revival, apply music and come away with a whole new attitude about living!”

The Big Revival Tour is about celebrating life, music, friends, the way you feel and getting to see the show that – for a whole lot of people -- makes summer official.

Kenny Chesney’s The Big Revival Tour is presented by Corona Lite and sponsored by Blue Chair Bay.

KENNY CHESNEY DOUBLES DOWN IN MUSIC CITY

Nashville Tour Kick-Off 3/26 Goes To Two Nights Due To Demand Even Before Tickets Go On-Sale

Presale begins Thursday 1/22 at 10am CST.

CODEWORD: flipflop

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Tuesday, Jan. 20) It was obvious the fans missed Kenny Chesney’s high energy, best-night-of-the-year concerts last year, but nobody expected the people to respond with the kind of velocity they have been. With two Foxboro Stadiums shows selling out in twelve minutes, someone might’ve thought just one night at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena wouldn’t be enough.
After announcing the March 26 kick-off to Chesney’s The Big Revival Tour, the demand for tickets before on-sale was so great, the powers that be had to scramble. When tickets go up for sale on Friday, January 23, fans will be able to buy seats for March 26 or March 27. Quick work allows Chesney to meet all his hometown demand.

“When you take a year off and you’re as far into a career as I am,” Chesney says, “you don’t wanna assume they’re still as hungry for you. But I’ve also always said I never want a real fan not to be able to come to the show, so I’m glad I’m able to do two nights in Nashville.”

The Big Revival has prompted a new wave in Chesney’s music, and the fans have responded like it’s No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems or When the Sun Goes Down. After the GRAMMY-nominated “American Kids” spent two weeks at #1, “'Til It’s Gone” topped the chart this week to give the 8-time Entertainer of the Year of his 26th #1.

“I’m so lucky to have the team I have around me. They understand my idea that just ‘cause it hasn’t been done, why can’t we? They made the Flora-Bama-Jama happen with almost no notice – and that was basically a stadium show on the beach! More than 42,000 people, all loving the music and having a blast doing it.

“So when the response (to the Nashville show) was so strong and it looked like people would be left out, I hated that – especially for the for the first show of the year. Once again, they acted fast, revamped some plans and made a second Nashville show happen! I can’t wait.”

With rehearsals about to get underway, video screens being built and footage edited, the man The Wall Street Journal called “The King of the Road” has spent plenty of time getting ready to take it on the road. Look for some surprise songs, some things that have been forgotten and yes, plenty of songs from his 13th #1 Billboard Country Albums debut.

Rolling Stone raved The Big Revival “continuously brings a sense of music energy and emotional urgency... His strongest collection of songs since 2010’s career-defining Hemingway’s Whiskey,” while Billboard wrote, it “captures the zeitgeist of American youth in a way John Mellencamp once owned.”

Another full summer lies ahead, with 20 stadiums, countless arenas, the occasional amphitheater and a few festivals to come. But right now, Chesney is gearing up to kick it all off with not one but two shows in Nashville due to the demand and his desire to get out there and play.

“I’m glad we were able to make it work so everyone who wants to come can! That’s always been the way we’ve tried to do this – and I see no reason to change now.”

KENNY CHESNEY RE-TEAMS WITH ERIC CHURCH

Church to Join Chesney for Five Stadium Shows on The Big Revival Tour

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 10, 2014) – Kenny Chesney’s stadium shows are always full-blown concert experiences, none more than his 2013 No Shoes Nation Tour with good friend Eric Church sharing the bill. When the 8-time Entertainer of the Year was readying his Big Revival Tour, he thought about Church's energy and intensity levels – and asked the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Album of the Year winner for the double-platinum Chief to join him for parts of his tour.

“There is something about the way Eric connects with my audience,” says the man whose sold in excess of a million tickets each of his headlining tours, “that left me feeling like he made the No Shoes Nation Tour something special! He attacks the stage with so much force – and his songs really speak to the people who’re fighting the fight to get by – and I love that about what he does onstage.”

The Big Revival Tour dates featuring Church are as follows:

Saturday, May 9         Indianapolis, In. at Lucas Oil Stadium
Saturday, May 30       Pittsburgh, Pa. at Heinz Field
Saturday, June 13       Atlanta, Ga. at The Georgia Dome
Saturday, July 11        Philadelphia, Pa. at Lincoln Financial Field
Saturday, August 22   Detroit, Mich. at Ford Field

“Some of the most fun I've ever had on tour was last summer with Kenny,” shares Church.  “He's an artist that isn't afraid to let you come full blast and do what you do.  It's rare you get to tour with someone you respect and you are friends with.  I can't wait to do it again.”

Chesney is the only country artist in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Top Touring Acts of the Last 25 Years; impressive given headlining began in 2002. Deemed “The King of the Road” by The Wall Street Journal, his summer concerts are legend – and he’s already begun this touring cycle with his 13th #1 Country Album The Big Revival, which has spawned the multiple-week #1 “American Kids” and “Til It’s Gone,” which hit Billboard’s Country Charts at #18 with a bullet on add date.

Church, whose Chief and The Outsiders both debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart debut –with the latter currently holding the highest country album debut for 2014—is known for an aggressive take on country, one that blurs hard rock and hardcore while capturing the grit of standing one’s ground, making ends meet and never losing one’s dignity in the process. His #1 hits include “Give Me Back My Hometown,” “Drink In My Hand” and “Springsteen,” as well as the envelope-pushing “Homeboy,” “Smoke A Little Smoke,” “Creepin’,” Like Jesus Does” and his latest from The Outsiders, “Talladega.”

“I’m so glad the fans in these five cities will get to rock with Eric this year,” Chesney enthuses. “It’s a wild night when we get together... and it’s something everyone should be a part of!"

KENNY CHESNEY TAKES THE BIG REVIVAL ON THE ROAD

Get Ready for the Eight-Time Entertainer of the Year’s Biggest Tour Yet

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2014) – After a year making The Big Revival, his 13th #1 Country Album debut, Kenny Chesney is ready to get back to the fans. With the multiple week #1 “American Kids” and “Til Its Gone” currently sitting at #18 on Billboard’s Country Singles chart, his new music has reinvigorated the No Shoes Nation.

Now Chesney returns to where he draws inspiration, energy and a reason to believe in the power of music: his 2015 tour! The man The Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road” mixes it up playing arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums. He kicks off on March 26, his birthday in Nashville -- and also teams with presenting sponsor Corona Light to do it.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate,” Chesney, who confirmed he’s bringing The Big Revival Tour to America today on ABC's Good Morning America, says. “I’ve been ready to get out there for a long time. Now that we’re announced I’m fired up! This new music brings a new energy to the show, and it’s gonna take what we do to a whole other level.

Impressive considering each of his headlining tours since 2002 has sold over a million tickets– making him the only country act in Billboard’s Top 10 Touring Acts of the Past 25 Years. That’s a strong showing, given Chesney’s only been headlining half that time.

“We’re going to be mixing up the line-up, too: different markets will have different acts playing with us. A few will be on all the stadium shows, some doing pieces – but I promise everybody who’s coming out rocks hard, and understands turning a crowd on.”

Chesney knows how to pick’em. Over the years, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood have supported Chesney’s full-tilt tours, as well as beyond genre artists Grace Potter and Uncle Kracker.

“This is really about us and the fans... the fact that every year, so many people make their summer about coming to see us. I’ve missed that sense of community and that passion for the music. There’s gonna be some stuff from the new record and songs people haven’t heard in a while. There’s gonna be a whole lot of music and some surprises…

“I didn’t know if I could take the music as far as we were able with the album. That’s the beauty of giving things time to be what they’re meant to. We’re already working on next year’s video. I’ve seen the stage – and the lights. As the set list comes together, and we start locking down rehearsals, this is gonna be a wild night. I hope the fans are ready.”

Rolling Stone echoes that, saying The Big Revival “continuously brings a sense of musical energy and emotional urgency...” and Billboard raved it “captures the zeitgeist of American youth in a way that John Mellencamp once owned.” Look for this year’s tour to offer the same kind of energy, intensity and excitement.

“Because of the number of artists we’re pulling into this tour, the roll out is a little trickier, but I think it’s going to be worth the wait and the finding out. Rather than locking in one thing, I wanted to make each market the best it could be. People will be fired up when they see who’s playing where. That means, there’s more news to come... A lot of our favorite cities are on the list, so are some places we’ve never been. Get ready!”

KENNY CHESNEY’S BIG REVIVAL IS 13TH COUNTRY ALBUM TOPPER

Critical Kudos Continues To Add Up; 130,000 Copies Sold

PRESS RELEASE

Nashville, TENN. (October 1, 2014) -In a world that’s changing, some things remain. Kenny Chesney hit the streets with the surging The Big Revival with eleven songs Billboard suggest “captures the zeitgeist of American youth,” and found himself topping the Billboard Country Album Chart for the 13th time. Selling 130,000 copies in its first week, the album has connected with the fans with a passion many country albums have not this fall.
“There are people passionate about life, about music, about their friends and how they dig in and get through as much as how they have a good time,” Chesney says. “I knew during the last tour, they were hungry for more from this music... They wanted songs that showed them more of their life, which maybe offered some different things musically.

“It’s not as simple as everyone thinks: to find great songs, to be in a creative space where you can think about that stuff, hear new rhythms or change up the lyrics you go to. I didn’t want to come back with more of the same, but more of something even better... and whether it’s ‘Flora-Bama’ or ‘Wild Child’ or ‘Til It’s Gone,’ the response I’m getting says we did the right thing.”

That response also includes some high praise from some of the nation’s most prestigious publications. USA Today called The Big Revival “a coming-of-age tale full of life-changing memories,” while Esquire.com wrote it “feels completely organic” and New York Newsday proclaimed, “(Chesney) really builds his vision of America... a big-tent collection of future hits that celebrates regular folks who stand up for each other. In turn, even more folks will stand with Chesney after hearing it.”

Even notoriously tough Rolling Stone opined the album “continuously brings a sense of musical energy and emotional urgency... His strongest collection of songs since 2010’s career-defining Hemingway’s Whiskey,” while People offered it “reclaims his spirituality” and The Miami Herald deemed it, “Chesney’s most infectious collection in a long time.”

“You don’t go on a journey to find songs, seek new players or consider how to write about life between the coats looking for awards or good reviews,” says the man The Los Angeles Times deemed “The People’s Superstar” about the time invested in The Big Revival. “If you’re truly writing songs, you’re scraping at people’s hearts, looking at what defines their lives – and you wanna remind them to dig in and really live. I think a bunch of these songs sure do.”

“Til It’s Gone” hit Billboard’s Top 40 two weeks before add date, taking the free-spirited attitude of “American Kids” and focusing it on drawing people together. Just 800 units shy of besting Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga for #1 on Billboard’s Top 200, Chesney views the diversity as a sign that good music resonates – whether it’s progressive country or postmodern cocktail – and that inspires him in big ways.

“There are things on here unlike anything I’ve ever done. That music lovers respond to my record and Tony Bennett with that amount of passion makes me believe there will always be room for interesting music. It’s up to us to challenge ourselves to make it.”

KENNY CHESNEY RELEASES "FLORA-BAMA" AS INSTANT GRAT TRACK ON BIG REVIVAL PRE-ORDERS

The Big Revival Pre-Order Available Now
Receive “Flora-Bama,” plus the Top 10 “American Kids” INSTANTLY
Capture the Moment Today

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Tuesday, August 12, 2014) -- As “American Kids,” the percolating celebration of what life is made of, hits the Top 10, Kenny Chesney peels off another anthem from his eagerly anticipated The Big Revival – due September 23 -- to give people a compelling sense of where his next album is heading. If you pre-order now http://smarturl.it/thebigrevival, you will receive “American Kids” and “Flora-Bama,” a sweeping song about laying back at the seminal bar on the Alabama/Florida state line.

“It’s a very specific song about a very specific place,” Chesney says, “but it’s also a song for anyone who has somewhere they go to let their mind unwind. It’s about bein’ easy, but bein’ engaged. Because – as I’ve said – places like the Flora-Bama are what life is all about.”

Written with David Lee Murphy (“Livin’ In Fast Forward,” “Dust On The Bottle”), “Flora-Bama” is a fistful of postcards from the sort of lazy afternoon that is no hurry, but feels absolutely alive. Inspired by a real place, the pair sought to capture the perfect suspension between having the time of your life and being so relaxed you don’t really care about what happens, you’re just enjoying the moment.

“I got a call from a good friend who’d been sittin’ in the Flora-Bama all afternoon,” Chesney explains. “He’d just ducked in for a beer, and six hours later, he’d emerged with a bunch of new friends, a great time and the sort of memory you keep going back to. David Lee and I were trying to write, and of course, he’d been there. We got to talkin’ about it, and next thing you know, we were halfway through the song!”

With the 4-time Country Music Association and 4-consecutive Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year slated to play his only 2014 show – deemed the Flora-Bama-Jam – August 16, “Flora-Bama” is the perfect song to get ready. It is available now for instant download when people order The Big Revival on iTunes.

“It’s one of those songs that could almost be the National Anthem for the No Shoes Nation,” Chesney marvels. “The idea of a place where when you unplug, you can kick back, be with your friends and really enjoy the time. I love that the Flora-Bama is an actual place; but, it’s as much a state of mind... and being. When you listen past the details, the melody really brings that – and you can feel what I’m talking about.”

Co-produced by Chesney and Buddy Cannon, the 11-track release runs the gamut. From the deep pocketed title track to the rhythmic shifting of “American Kids,” the wistfully stark country of “Don’t It” with Alison Krauss and Dan Tyminski and the swirling “Wild Child” featuring Grace Potter, The Big Revival may be Chesney’s most diverse, yet infectious project yet.
