KRISTIAN BUSH ‘GIVES IT AWAY’ ON NBC’S TODAY SHOW

Multi-Platinum Artist Performed Hit Single “Trailer Hitch”
and Announced New Partnership with Goodwill®

PRESS RELEASE

Nashville, TN (October 27, 2014) – Multi-platinum recording artist Kristian Bush performed his Top 35-and-climbing hit “Trailer Hitch” on NBC’s TODAY show this morning and announced an exciting new partnership with Goodwill Industries International.

Watch the video here: http://www.today.com/video/today/56310567#56310567.

The partnership is inspired by “Trailer Hitch,” which reminds us that we collect so many things that we don’t need, and we can’t take it with us when we go… so why not “give it away”? The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of Goodwill’s mission to transform lives through the power of creating jobs.

“When I learned more about Goodwill® and what they do with the proceeds from donations -- how those donations help create jobs -- I was really excited to join the effort,” said Bush. “If you are interested in creating change in your community, donating to Goodwill is a great place to start. It is so much more than a thrift shop."

By using the catchy, irresistible hook of “Trailer Hitch,” Bush will join Goodwill in spreading the word that when fans “give it away” to Goodwill, the revenue from the sale of donated clothing, electronics, and small household goods goes directly to help find employment for people in their communities with disabilities or disadvantages.

“Trailer Hitch” brings Bush’s voice to the foreground and is the lead single from his forthcoming debut solo album, SOUTHERN GRAVITY (Streamsound Records), executive produced by Byron Gallimore.

KRISTIAN BUSH IS ‘GIVING IT AWAY’ IN LYRIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “TRAILER HITCH”

Video Exclusively Premiered on Rolling Stone Country

Photo Credit: Courtesy of Streamsound Records

PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, TN – July 11, 2014 - Platinum-selling country singer Kristian Bush takes ‘giving it away’ to another level in the lyric video for his brand new single, “Trailer Hitch,” which exclusively premiered on Rolling Stone Country on Tuesday (7/8). With his guitar over his shoulder, Bush took to the streets of Chicago and instead of playing for ‘tips,' he cleverly filled his guitar case with cash to give away to people passing by.

Written by Bush along with his brother Brandon Bush and Tim Owens, the infectious song carries the underlying message of enjoying the gift of giving back over the desire for material things. The video shows Bush inscribing the words ‘please take one’ on the sidewalk in chalk next to his open guitar case full of money and encouraging people to pay it forward. In the end, he leaves with a giant smile after giving away $300 in less than two hours.

"I thought how cool it would be if we tried to give away money from a guitar case instead of ask for money," Bush tells Rolling Stone Country. "People were looking at me funny; they got suspicious. I mean, here I am giving strangers money on the street. People would say no, and then I'd say, 'Go give it to someone who needs it.' Then they caught on. It turns out, people are much more comfortable giving than they are taking."

For more behind-the-scenes check out the exclusive premiere on Rollingstone.com.

SINGLE REVIEW: "TRAILER HITCH" - KRISTIAN BUSH

SINGLE: "Trailer Hitch"
ARTIST: Kristian Bush
REVIEWER: Alyse Smith
Follow Alyse on Twitter at @ASmith1300

Purchase "Trailer Hitch" on iTunes / Amazon starting July 28, 2014

Kristian Bush, formerly of Sugarland, is pursuing a solo career and his debut single is “Trailer Hitch”. It’s a very funny song with a good message. The message being “You can’t take it with you when you go, so give it away!” It’s both an uplifting and revitalizing song, not only lyrically but instrumentally, the tune is catchy and bright. I already can’t wait to hear this song more often! It’s a good song for any occasion, but I can see a summer day having a drink with friends with the sun shining and enjoying what you have and who you have. The more I hear Kristian Bush sing, the more I wonder why we haven’t heard Kristian sing more. I can now say that I’ve loved every project he’s done between his Sugarland days and now his solo career. Jennifer Nettles is an incredible vocalist, I hope if they work together again they’ll do more of trading lead vocals back and forth. How can you not love a song that starts with “I’m going to buy you a drink and maybe one for this whole town”? This is definitely not like anything on country radio right now. Between his vocals and songwriting, it’s nice to hear a song that’s a little different with such a positive message. I can’t wait to see what’s next from him, but I have a feeling that he’ll be making a cozy little home at the top of the charts and sticking around for a while with this one!
