Travis Meadows spent years trying to escape himself. He’s anything but selfish, so he’d find a way to get away––a bottle, a bag, a sermon––and he’d share it with everyone. That was then. Now, Meadows isn’t trying to get anybody lost or high. Instead, he’s trying to get every single one of us to settle in deeply to ourselves––and love what’s there. “I feel like what I’m doing is giving people permission to be okay with who they are, where they’re at now,” Meadows says. “A lot of us say stuff like, ‘If I’d been married to this guy or this girl, or if I had enough money, or if I had a better job. If I wasn’t an alcoholic, or if I drank more. If this, if that, then, I think I could be a better person.’” He pauses. “I think the key to life is being okay with who you are.”

“Life can be a little challenging for all of us. It’s beautiful and it’s tragic, it’s awesome and it hurts,” Meadows says. “I hope people sense that through this record and want to come to a show, which is a lot of storytelling, a lot of tears, a lot of laughter. They’ll come face to face with a damn lot of humanity. I hope they see themselves in it.”

PETE SCOBELL BAND TOPS iTUNES TOP 200 COUNTRY SONGS CHART WITH “HEARTS I LEAVE BEHIND,” A TRIBUTE TO “AMERICAN SNIPER” CHRIS KYLE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2015) – Fresh on the country music scene, the Pete Scobell Band just scored their first No. 1 digital single with the poignant release, “Hearts I Leave Behind,” topping the iTunes Top 200 Country Songs chart this week. The song honors Chief Petty Officer Christopher Kyle, the U.S. Navy SEAL commemorated in the award-winning film American Sniper. Taya Kyle asked band frontman Pete Scobell, also a former Navy SEAL, to record the song in memory of her late husband, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the recording will be donated to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.

“Hearts I Leave Behind” was written by Travis Meadows and features the legendary Wynonna Judd. The band is currently opening for Judd on the Wynonna Judd and Friends Stories & Song Tour and has previously performed on Marcus Luttrell’s Patriot Tour. Scobell is sponsored by Woody Creek Distillers and Team Never Quit.

THANK A SONGWRITER - TRAVIS MEADOWS

"An orphan who turned into a preacher.
A preacher who turned into a drunk.
A drunk who is learning to be a human being.”
-Travis Meadows

Travis Meadows may not be a name you immediately recognize in conversation, but his is a very recognizable name when it comes to the music you listen to. Travis is more than a songwriter, he's a walking talking story. His music tells the story of his dedication to his family, his deep struggle with religion and it's a story about overcoming addiction and learning to survive and get through life with a sense of self-confidence and how to break freed from the demons we all struggle with. His music comes from a very personal place and he shares that place with listeners in every song he writes. You want music that comes from a real place, a place that matters? Travis is musical reality, as honest and raw as it comes.

His background is extensive. From a 2001 ASCAP Christian Music Award with 8 top 20 singles in the Contemporary Christian genre to a 2005 staff writer deal at Universal Music Publishing Group. He has written with songwriters worldwide and has added cuts by such artists as Ronnie Dunn, Blackberry Smoke, Lee Ann Womack, Levi Lowrey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and his most recent cuts "Riser" by Dierks Bentley, "Dark Side" by Eric Church on his highly acclaimed CD "The Outsiders" and Jake Owen's lastest, and sure to be next #1 hit, "What We Ain't Got". On the international front, he's written several #1 singles and scored 5 RIAA Gold Records with Australian artist Adam Brand.

Travis is also one hell of an artist on his own aside from the writing, releasing his own albums - My Life 101, Killin' Uncle Buzzy, Old Ghosts & Unfinished Business,  which was released in May 2013. His music can be found on iTunes and his "story" is well worth a dedicated, uninterrupted listen. You can find his music on iTunes. If you should download, please remember to leave a review. Every good artist needs this feedback.
