NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 13, 2012)—The 41st annual CMA Festival brought together once again thousands of music fans and country artists during the four-day June celebration. As a CMA Music Festival "regular", Country Music Hall of Fame member Julie Ingram, took part in a number of events, including the Tug McGraw Foundation Celebrity Sporting Clay Shoot-out, the You’ve been Sentenced! Celebrity Game and the Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge.
Kicking her action-packed CMA schedule off with a bang, Ingram attended the Tug McGraw Foundation “Celebrity Sporting Clay Shoot-out” on Tuesday morning, June 5, held at the Nashville Gun Club in Nashville, Tennessee along with GRAMMY® award-winning musician Tim McGraw, a decorated group of star and pro shooters. Ingram, a seasoned shooter herself, arrived locked and loaded sporting her own shotgun and duds. Proceeds from the event benefited the Tug McGraw Foundation and its efforts to improve the lives of military service members who have been affected by Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
“Over and above music, Tim and I have a similar passion,” said Ingram. “We both believe in supporting charities that give back to those who serve our nation and in the importance of independent recording labels for the survival of the music industry!”
Other artists joining Ingram and McGraw for the shoot included Keith Anderson, Luke Bryan, Craig Campbell, Troy Gentry, Brantley Gilbert, Josh Gracin, JT Hodges, Steve Holy, Jeff McMahon, Eddie Montgomery, Jon Pardi, Josh Thompson, Brad Warren and Brett Warren.
Thursday, June 7, 2012, Ingram was the sole lady competitor in the Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge where she competed alongside Mark Wills, Ty Brown, Trent Willmon and Lucas Hoge, among others who enjoy the great outdoors, in archery, air rifle and sling shot target shoots.
Following the Field & Stream event, Julie headed to Nashville’s Hard Rock CafĂ© to take her seat at the special You’ve been Sentenced! Celebrity Charity Game to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Success Won’t Wait. With over 20 participants playing the nationally acclaimed award-winning game You’ve been Sentenced!, the event raised more than $4,000 for the charities through ticket sales, and a variety of raffle giveaways and attendee donations.
