ANNIE BOSKO PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE MAN IN BLACK WITH “CASH”

Stream/Download "Cash" Here

Adding to her repertoire of tracks dubbed by Billboard as “tailor-made for rousing live shows,” rising singer/songwriter Annie Bosko releases “Cash,” a dynamic tribute celebrating the impact and influence of Johnny Cash, via Stone Country Records.

“Years ago, I was performing my first concert for inmates,” Bosko reflects. “I knew I was singing for the women, but I wasn’t aware I’d also be performing for the men. Without a fitting song for the occasion, I went home and began writing ‘Cash.’

“I later finished it with Griffin House, who is truly a talented poet. Both of us share a love for Johnny Cash, and out of that spirit, this song was born,” she reflects. “Johnny was such an inspiring renegade, especially in the way he connected to those who felt forgotten.”

Written by Bosko with House and produced by Bosko with Tommy Sims, “Cash” captures the essence of the icon’s multifaceted persona:

"He’s the good, the bad, the dark and light
Every shade of gray between black and white
A walking contradiction, an angel in devil’s shoes
Never would’ve been so good if you weren’t so bad
It’s a world full of Johnny’s, but there’ll never be another Cash"

Today’s release follows “Heart Burn” ft. Dwight Yoakam and “Higher Ground” ft. Vince Gill, both of which landed on Rolling Stone’s all-genre “Songs You Need To Know” upon their release.

Bosko recently performed at California’s Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles as direct support for Jelly Roll and joined him onstage for a collaboration on “Friends in Low Places” (watch HERE), while Detroit Free Press boasts of her set at Faster Horses earlier this month, “California singer-songwriter Annie Bosko turned in a barnstorming performance…bringing rock energy and an old-school country feel to a 40-minute set that included a romping ‘Boots On’ and midtempo ‘Neon Baby.’"

Following additional performances at Tortuga, Stagecoach and CMA Fest earlier this summer, Bosko has upcoming festival plays at Watershed tomorrow, August 3, and Country Thunder Florida on October 19.

NATE BARNES’ NEW SUMMERTIME ANTHEM, “LOVE IN THE COUNTRY,” OUT NOW

New Song Written by Ryan Hurd, Jordan Schmidt, Ernest Smith
and Geoffrey Warburton

"Love in the Country" Marks First Release From Debut Album

Quartz Hill Records artist Nate Barnes returns with his latest, the summertime anthem, “Love in the Country,” available across all streaming and digital retail partners now.

Stream / Buy “Love in the Country” HERE.

The breezy, come-on to a lover to spend the night together outdoors beneath the stars was written by country powerhouses Ryan Hurd, Jordan Schmidt, Ernest Smith and Geoffrey Warburton. “Love in the Country,” boasts toe-tappin’ lyrics and stunning visuals paired with an undeniable hook of summer love. It’s an irresistible jam with a back-porch groove.

"Hey baby do you hear that song
All the crickets and the bullfrogs singing along
Tween the wind in the trees and the birds and the bees
Sounds so sweet making love in the country"

“‘Love in the Country’ reminds me of young love. Growing up in small town Michigan, there wasn’t much to do but take your date to the movies, hang out at late night bonfires or sit on the back of your truck bed and talk all night. And sometimes you just want to get out in the country to spend a little time together one-on-one,” says Barnes.

Produced by Derek George (Randy Houser) and Ilya Toshinkskiy (Jelly Roll), “Love in the Country” possesses a chorus that makes the listener want to clap their hands and get up and dance while the bridge mirrors a summer romance between young lovers without a care in the world.

“Love in the Country” is the first song from Barnes’ upcoming debut album, slated for release in early 2025.

RISING SINGER/SONGWRITER CONNOR DALY RELEASES NEW SINGLE "AIN'T GOT A CAPE"

Connor Daly, the rising singer-songwriter known for his evocative lyrics and tender vocals, has just released his latest single, “Ain’t Got A Cape.” The song, written by Daly, produced by William Gawley, and engineered and mixed by Bryce Roberts, is now available on all major streaming platforms here. The track was recorded at The Castle Studio, Dark Horse, and Omni Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. (Drums/Wayne Killius)(Bass/Dave Francis and Dave Spicher)(Acoustic Guitars/Pat McGrath, David Flint and Connor Daly)(Electric Guitar/David Flint and Mike Durham)(Mandolin/David Flint and Deanie Richardson)(Fiddle/Deanie Richardson)(Piano/Keys/Chris Nole)(Background Vocals/Wendy Newcomer)(Mastered by Mike Monseur with Axis Audi)

Filmed in cooperation with the Ashland City Police and Fire Department, the official music video for “Ain’t Got A Cape,” adds a visual narrative to the heartfelt ballad and was produced by Charlotte Avenue Entertainment.

"Ain’t Got a Cape" is a song about love, loss, and the painful acknowledgment of one's limitations in the face of another's struggles. In "Ain’t Got a Cape," Daly captures the crispness of Fall and the bittersweet memories of a past love. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of changing seasons, both in nature and in the heart. The narrator reflects on a relationship where their partner needed saving, but they couldn’t be the hero to prevent the fall. The imagery of leaves falling from trees symbolizes the inevitable end of something beautiful yet fragile. The chorus poignantly realizes that, despite the longing to be a savior, some battles are too heavy to carry alone. The song's melancholy tone is woven through memories of shared moments by the old rail tracks, where love once thrived but now lingers like a ghost in the cold air.

Raised in Northern Virginia, Daly grew up playing sports and music. He was the Virginia High School (5A) state champion in discus, earning a spot on the track and field team at George Mason University, where he competed throughout college. Alongside his athletic pursuits, he played classical guitar, developing a cascading fingerpicking style that shines through in his songs today. After his first year in college, Daly turned to songwriting more fully, and in 2019 recorded some demos and fell in love with “the process of bringing my own songs to life.”

Now at 25, with more than 100 songs in his catalog, he continues to develop his craft. Daly released multiple singles throughout 2023 and has performed regularly in local venues near his home in Fairfax and at songwriter rounds in Nashville. With musical influences including Jason Isbell, Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, and Ed Sheeran, Daly has cultivated a knack for delivering his songs with emotional resonance.

This summer, Daly will release his debut album, Colors Fade, featuring acoustic-driven arrangements with poetic stories that cross the full spectrum of human experience.

COLIN STOUGH CAN'T GET AN EX OFF HIS MIND IN THE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR "MAKES TWO OF US"

“The music video for ‘Makes Two of Us’ is about how your mind keeps wandering to your ex after a breakup. So, in the clip, you see these two characters living their daily lives while constant flashes of memories between them keep happening,” shares Stough. “It shows how often you’re just doing whatever, yet you find yourself completely lost in thought – thinking about the other person. It starts happening so often that you get to a point where you’re just kind of like, ‘Well, if I can’t get ‘em off my mind, what could it hurt to just go there again?’”

Directed by David Dutton with DP Alan Fisher, the Mississippi native stepped back into a real-life job he had during high school as a welder for the footage shot at Glenn Machine Works in Columbus, MS. The strong visuals add to the explosive temptation of the on-again-off-again romance as depicted in the roller-coaster lyrics penned by Stough with Alex Maxwell and Cole Taylor. Intrusive thoughts capture a conflicted heart caught in a feedback loop of heartbreak and loneliness, and about to give in just one more time.

Showcasing a complex artist-writer who continues to hone his lyrical craftsmanship, the pitch-black production from Maxwell further helps put the growing urge in sonic terms – while also eclipsing the power of Stough’s Promiseland EP debut. With a heavy-handed Rock foundation, distorted guitars thunder alongside pounding drums and streaks of steel guitar lightning, but Stough weaves in tender moments to explore the emotional conflict as well – all while his volcanic Southern vocal fights confusing signals. On the one hand, he should resist what’s surely the start of another toxic cycle. But on the other, the craving for connection is real, and, hopefully, coming from both sides. Listen here.

With more new music promised soon, Stough’s stacking music festival appearances this summer like CMA Fest 2024 on June 8 on the Hard Rock Stage in Nashville, TN. The same day, the Season 21 finalist on American Idol will also join a program at Fan Fair X inside Music City Center on the CMA Close Up Stage for “Idol Hour with Chayce Beckham, HunterGirl, Colin Stough and ‘American Idol’ ‘24 Winner and Runner-Up.” Find additional details here.

DAVID NAIL RELEASES EMOTIONAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR "IF I COULD CALL," HONORING LEGACY AND FATHERHOOD

Today, country music artist David Nail unveiled a new music video for his latest single, "If I Could Call." This heartfelt song draws from Nail's personal experiences, particularly his close relationship with his late grandfather, whose profound influence continues to shape Nail's perspective on life and parenting as a father of three. The video showcases Nail engaging in one of his favorite pastimes, baseball, with his son, Lawson, who is also referenced in the song. Through Nail's emotive vocals and sincere storytelling, the performance resonates deeply, offering solace to those who have experienced loss and longing. Listen here: https://ffm.to/couldcall

“The best part about this video and the thing that I'm most proud of is the fact that my son was in it. I feel like it's so important to have these moments to be able to look back on. I feel like the kids are right at that age where they kind of realize what daddy has done for a living and what he continues to do. So just to be able to have that memory is super special to me and I'm just very thankful that not only was he in it, but that he cooperated and did what the directors asked.” Nail said.

If I could call
Like I used to
If you were only just a phone call away
Yea I would call
Just to hear you
You always had a way of making everything okay
I wouldn’t be here wide awake
If I could call

David stopped by RFD-TV this morning to chat with Suzanne Alexander and delves into the intricacies of the songwriting process, recounts the moment his wife Cat met his grandfather for the first time and discusses the sentimental decision to name his son after him. Watch here: https://youtu.be/

ALLIE COLLEEN PREMIERES DEBUT OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “WHILE WE’RE STILL FRIENDS” FEAT. LEE BRICE

The official support video for “While We’re Still Friends” feat. Lee Brice by Allie Colleen premiered yesterday on Stryk TV and Country Rebel social media platforms. The video is being added in rotation on Music Choice and CMT Music (CMT’s 24-hour channel) and should start spinning the week of March 3rd.

Produced by Logen Christopher at Stormlight Pictures in Nashville, TN, the video beautifully portrays the emotional journey of a relationship coming to an end and the delicate process of moving forward with grace.

“I cannot even begin to share the excitement of sharing this video with everyone. The support on this song has been amazing and I am honored and humbled by everyone’s kindness on the song's message,” expressed Allie Colleen.

"Allie Colleen brings an exciting sound and energy to music lovers as she comes from an iconic country music lineage with a strong tradition of bridging genres. As a host on SiriusXM Classic Rewind and StrykTV, I can attest that while her roots may be in country, her music resonates across genres and generations.” shared Dean Baldwin, SiriusXM, StrykTV, FM2.0.

With a reputation as a notable songwriter with an iconic-sounding, impeccably strong voice, Allie Colleen released “While We’re Still Friends” featuring Lee Brice as her first release of the new year on February 17, amassing more than 100K organic Spotify streams in the first 4 days. The raw emotion-filled song lyrics, brimming with honesty and sincerity, were collaboratively penned by Allie Colleen, Sara Brice, and Lee Brice.

“While We’re Still Friends” is available on all digital music platforms HERE.

Allie Colleen shared, “For me as a writer, this song was written looking at my marriage and the beautiful season about to end. I hope the listeners find comfort in knowing the absolute bravery required to make the best decisions for themselves and for the best of both partners. I hope this song creates a safe space to feel and reflect.”

“As a songwriter, sometimes I find it hard to understand when writing about myself or creating a narrative using other characters. This song was a ‘punch in the gut’ reality check for me. What started as a co-writer’s idea turned into years of unspoken anxiety and repressed honesty about the relationship I had found myself in. This song in its own way shattered my world and in another way saved my life.”

"Simply said…Allie was made for this. She is authentic to her core regardless of circumstance and in this world we live in right now, that is a tough thing to do and a refreshing quality to find. When Allie, Sara and I first sat down to write this song, I immediately saw that Allie takes on the good, the bad and the ugly in her songwriting. It’s never an easy thing to put your personal life into a song the world will hear and I applaud Allie for challenging herself to go there so honestly,” shared co-producer Lee Brice. “The way she plays, her effortless singing, her God-given ability to connect with people - this song has it all. It is an arrow through the heart and Allie delivers it exactly how it’s supposed to be and only how she could. I am truly honored to be a small part of such a big talent."

Jerrod Nieman added, “I love everything about Allie as a friend and just a great person. It all reflects in her music well beyond her years. She makes music straight from the soul. Pryor Baird Makes An Emotional Grand Ole Opry Debut Earning A Standing Ovation

Baird Offered A Release Day Performance Of His Brand-New Track
"Mighta Met A Girl" (1/26)

The Musical Triple Threat Commemorated the Unforgettable Evening in the Opry's Circle Room During An After-Performance Reception

Dynamic songwriter, guitarist, and Black River recording artist Pryor Baird stepped into the legendary Grand Ole Opry circle for the very first time during his Opry debut this past Friday night (Jan. 26). Baird marked the release of his brand-new track, "Mighta Met A Girl" and its accompanying lyric video by offering a release day performance of the powerful third offering from the soulful rising country artist. After stepping off the coveted stage, Baird was joined by his family, friends, and team in the Opry's Circle Room for an intimate post-debut celebration.

WSM's Kelly Sutton, the host for the evening, introduced an eager Baird to the Opry stage as he began his debut set with a performance of his (1/26) release, " Mighta Met A Girl" via Black River. Co-written by Baird with Chris Gelbuda and David Tolliver, "Mighta Met A Girl" is produced by Doug Johnson. The feel-good tune brings listeners along on Baird's lighthearted journey during a night out with friends that begins like any other, but ends anything but — leaving him lovestruck and hopeful that he "mighta met a girl last night."

After the rush of stepping into the circle and performing his uptempo love story, Baird thanked and acknowledged our US Military, first responders, teachers, and survivors.

Getting even more personal with the supportive Opry crowd, Baird touched on how in life, everyone is faced with hardships and loss. However in overcoming those times, one can find beauty. He then dedicated his next performance to his father, who recently passed unexpectedly, saying, "This one's for you, Dad." With the help of the legendary Opry band's Randy Hart on keys, Baird belted out his emotional unreleased ballad, "Beauty In The Broken."

Although the track has not yet been released, it was the perfect song for Baird to honor one of the most influential people in his life, his father, who helped shape Baird into the artist and person he is today.

Following the emotional performance, Baird was treated to a rare standing ovation and joined host Kelly Sutton for an interview at the podium. In a moment of celebration and reverence, Sutton shared that she was sure his father was indeed looking down on this incredible night. "I think he was here tonight and I hope he had a good time," Baird replied. "He's definitely ready to have a cold beer after this - at least two or three."

Riding the high of reaching the career milestone after dreaming about this day for nearly his whole life, Baird's family, friends, and music industry alike gathered for an intimate after-party to mark the occasion. Hosted by Baird's record label and publishing home, Black River, along with his management team, Starstruck Entertainment, the evening included remarks from Baird and a commemorative cake donning the image of a five-year-old Baird with his first guitar, as well as the Grand Ole Opry stage.

"I want to say thank you to every single person that has ever reached into what I'm doing and said, 'We believe in it. We want to be a part of it.' That just speaks volumes, and I'm so thankful," shared Baird during the reception, surrounded by his closest supporters. "I truly have the greatest team, family, and fans - thank you so much for letting this be a reality. Work hard, and dream big."

Since the track's release, " Mighta Met A Girl" has secured spots on top playlists including Apple Music's New In Country; Spotify's New Music Friday Country; Amazon Music's Breakthrough Country; PANDORA’s Top Country Hits; and Vevo's New Music Friday.

"With an ultra-relatable lyric and memorably catchy melody that masterfully smashes into his gifted know-how of keeping his signature flares well intact, Pryor Baird continues to showcase the unique definitions of who he is as a songwriter and artist..."
- Jeffrey Kurtis

Baird is only heating up as he prepares to embark on the Nashville Hits the Roof series kicking off on 2/1 with a performance in Nashville before hitting the road for shows in South Carolina and North Carolina. Tickets are available HERE.

SINGER/SONGWRITER JON STATHAM JOINS FORCES WITH VETERANS THROUGH WARRIOR ROUNDS TO CREATE SONGS OF RESILIENCE

Embarking on a soul-stirring journey, acclaimed songwriter Jon Statham is harmonizing with the untold narratives of veterans through Warrior Rounds, transforming their experiences into powerful compositions of resilience and shared humanity.

Warrior Rounds was created to bring together veterans with songwriters to tell the untold stories of the heroes who have served our country. It was started by J.T. Cooper in 2019 “to help veterans have a voice,” he says. “Music helped me with my PTSD after my experience with war, during the battle of Mogadishu, of Black Hawk Down. We’ve done 60 stories and songs so far.”

Nashville singer/songwriter Jon Statham became involved with Warrior Rounds in 2022 through his friend and songwriting partner, Jason Martin. “I’ve written about 40 or more songs with Jason [Martin], many of the early ones were about his time in the army, and he introduced me to Warrior Rounds,” said Statham.

Statham described the Warrior Rounds project as a day retreat for veterans where they tell their stories to songwriters. “Heroes should always have a song written about them,” he said. Of these retreats, Statham noted, “it’s quite an experience, incredibly fulfilling.”

Cooper is thrilled with the collaboration with Statham, “Jon is awesome, he gets the Heart of what we do – one Warrior’s Story, one song at a time,” he says. This project is not only a celebration of artistic expression but a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving their country.

Jon Statham and Jason Martin started writing music together at the end of 2015 and put out their first song ”The Soldier and Me” in 2016. Martin described writing songs with Statham, “It is smooth, almost magical. [Jon] understands music so well that once he has the story and a melody in mind it just flows out.”

Martin was in the military for 20 years, and says it is the main thing that influences what he writes songs about. “Songwriting is all about the truth through stories and melodies and my time in the military formed who I am and who I will always be–a soldier, a warrior,” he said.

For Statham, this is also personal – “My dad proudly served in the Army. He was stationed in Japan and Asia. That’s where he got his start in radio and music, surprisingly enough. He spent many years in Country Music Radio.”

Most recently, Statham collaborated on the song “Hard Times Don’t Last” during a day retreat with Warrior Rounds. You can hear the story behind the song in the video below.

The Warrior Rounds project aims to raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by veterans and to foster a sense of unity and understanding. As the project unfolds, Statham wants the public to follow along and celebrate the strength, camaraderie, and stories of those who have served. Donations are most welcome to help keep these stories going at www.warriorrounds.com.
