THE OAK RIDGE BOYS LAUNCH THEIR SUIT LINE WITH A MISSION TO BRING JOBS HOME TO AMERICA

Country music legends, The Oak Ridge Boys have joined forces with American companies to place a new emphasis on buying products made in the United States. The Liberty Legends USA program debuted in 2015 and this week announced their launch of their second Legends Series, the “American Made Collection” by The Oak Ridge Boys. The collection will debut with a line of high quality suits, Made in the USA. The Liberty Legends USA Series is a collaboration of Made in America businesses and leaders promoting a movement to buy American, bringing jobs and profits back to American soil. The American Made Collection is now available through the link provided at oakridgeboys.com.

“If you have ever been to The Oak Ridge Boys concert, you have heard the passion behind the group's commitment to the spirit of America,” commented Robin Worley, Co-Founder of the Liberty Legends USA brand. “As we searched for our next legend in this mission, it was easy to see these guys have the heart and commitment to take this mission of building awareness to a new level. My childhood friend, Randall Redding, and I both grew up in a community that was devastated by NAFTA. We talked about wanting to do something for years, then in 2015 we saw our opportunity that not only would help our hometown community, but others like it across America. In collaboration with several partners, we launched a brand named Liberty Legends USA that we felt would provide a platform for leaders to support the “buy American” mission. Liberty Legends USA is a non-political platform that encourages and celebrates jobs in America. It is a movement that is not limited to American only brands, but we choose to celebrate and highlight anyone who brings jobs and/or keeps good paying jobs in America. With the help of partners like The Oak Ridge Boys, our sponsors and the growing list of endorsers, we are seeing the movement take off.”

In addition to launching the suit line, Duane Allen of The Oak Ridge Boys has joined the Executive Board of Directors of Liberty Legends USA. In this capacity, Duane will serve as one of the key ambassadors. The Executive Board, which is made up of individuals of various backgrounds, will guide the outreach efforts to increase the awareness of the movement.

“We are honored to have Duane join the Executive Board. We look forward to working with him to build greater outreach networks so that we can take the ‘buy American’ message to greater audiences and the next level,” said Robin Worley.

"After spending decades traveling across the USA, I have seen the recent closing of many of our manufacturing companies, mill towns, and hometown businesses. When these places close, manufacturing is often relocated overseas, and we not only lose jobs, but Americans often must find a new line of work," said Duane Allen.

"I am happy to be a part of Liberty Legends USA with its goal of keeping our factories and our mill towns open and providing good quality Made in America products. These products might cost a little more, but they’re an investment in our country's economy. Buying Made in America provides an opportunity for our businesses to grow, while Americans earn a fair wage."

The Liberty Legends USA mission has gained notoriety in the infancy stages by leaders such as Ambassador Andrew Young, Governor Mike Huckabee, Ret. Major General Gary Harrell (who was featured in the movie Black Hawk Down), Dr. Richie Bland, as well as a long list of celebrity endorsers who visit the key movement sponsor, Mill Town Music Hall. The movement sponsor list is growing and now includes Mill Town Music Hall, Threads Custom Apparel, Philbeck Custom Clothiers, Diamond Gusset Jeans and Cutman Classic.

“As our name implies, we are a music hall located in what was once the men’s suit capital of the south, a mill town,” said Mill Town Music Hall owner and Liberty Legends Co-founder, Randall Redding. “We think our venue stands for what the Liberty Legends mission is all about, taking a stand for the mill towns of America and helping them rebuild. At one time, the mill towns across America were busy with factories and mills making things, and today the buildings are silent. We have famous people come through here two to three times a month, and when they learn about the Legends movement, they can’t help but want to be a part of it. Some of them buy items, other post comments on their Facebook pages, and a few like The Oak Ridge Boys feel so empowered they join it and launch their own branded items in partnership with us.”

Mill Town Music Hall serves as the fulfillment center for Liberty Legends USA items including The Oak Ridge Boys American Made Collection. Mill Town’s website and physical location in Bremen, GA serves as the primary store for many other Made in the USA items.

RHONDA VINCENT RETURNS FROM SUCCESSFUL INTERNATIONAL TOUR

Continues Extensive North American Fall Tour

The International “Queen of Bluegrass” returns from a week of traveling abroad. Rhonda Vincent kept a jet-setting pace, flying from New York City to Dublin, Prague, and Zurich, before returning on Sunday.

The All American Bluegrass Girl, along with the Most Award Winning Band in Bluegrass Music History, “The Rage” performed amongst the breathtaking beauty of Prague, Czech Republic and Gstaad, Switzerland.

“The response was overwhelming,” Rhonda stated. “It is such an amazing feeling to know our music transcends beyond borders, languages, and cultures. Music is a universal language, and we certainly felt the love by the ovations received after every song. It was equivalent to a finale ending after every solo, and at the ending of each song. What an exhilarating experience to feel such response to our music!”

The first performance of this International Tour was in Prague, Czech Republic at the historic Rudolfinum, it is the current home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Rhonda Vincent & The Rage are the first artists to perform bluegrass music at the Rudolfinum. Known for its excellent acoustics, this historic hall was the perfect setting for their pure form of acoustic music in tandem with the incredible architecture of Prague. www.rudolfinum.cz

On Friday and Saturday, Rhonda Vincent set another historic landmark, being one of the few who have made triple performances at the most prestigious country music festival in Switzerland “Country Night Gstaad.” The festival is an annual event, spanning over 20 years, and hosted by entrepreneur Marcel Bach in the beauty of the Swiss Alps. Rhonda first performed at the Country Night Gstaad in 1997 with a country music band; next in 2007 with The Rage; and her third appearance another 10 years later in 2017 along with country music newbie Mo Pitney and the multi-charting Mark Chesnutt. Rhonda Vincent & The Rage stole the night with their energetic performance. After an uproarious, demanding ovation, Rhonda returned to the stage with only her guitar to deliver what many felt was their favorite part of the night. She gave a solo performance of the title song, which she wrote from the #1 CD with Daryle Singletary, “American Grandstand.” In addition to their nightly performances, Rhonda & The Rage did a special meet and greet with fans who traveled from all parts of Europe, which included Slovakia, Italy, France, and Spain. On Saturday afternoon, they even hosted a special impromptu jam session at their sponsor booth D’Addario.

"We love getting involved in every aspect of a festival,” Rhonda explains. "It’s more than just coming to a concert. We love getting to visit with our friends, and meeting new friends. With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, we can stay in touch well beyond the show. It’s important that I can shake each person’s hand, and look them in the eye to really make a connection you cannot make from the stage. They are lifelong friendships. We bring our heart and soul to every venue, and this is displayed in the amazing love we are shown in return.”

Beyond their performances, they were treated to luxury accommodations at The Alpina Gstaad. The Alpina Hotel is on the registry as one of the Best Hotels in the World! A 5-star hotel, nestled in the mountains of Gstaad Switzerland, and its features are nothing short of exquisite! Every aspect has been carefully selected, from the room design to restaurants, pools, and spa.

“Thank you Marcel and your entire staff for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!” Rhonda shares. “We love Country Night Gstaad, and staying at The Alpina was a most amazing addition to this already awesome festival.”

Although they are still soaring from their International experiences, this week finds Rhonda & The Rage at the Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival in Kodak, TN, Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival in Conway, MO, and Pickin’ In The Pines Festival in Flagstaff, AZ.

"THE VOICE" WINNER CRAIG WAYNE BOYD TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM "TOP SHELF" ON OCTOBER 27

Millions thrilled to Craig Wayne Boyd’s victory in Season 7 of NBC’s “The Voice,” and now, fans can rejoice as the dynamic vocalist announces the long-awaited release of Top Shelf October 27 from Copperline Music Group.

Boyd, who recently announced to People Magazine that his wife Taylor and him are expecting a new baby, says that although it will be a crazy next few months, he is thrilled to be releasing his first full-length album since winning “The Voice.”

“I’ve felt so much love from people who supported me from day one! I am so excited to finally get to share some new music with those loyal fans and maybe win over a few new ones in the meantime,” Boyd said.

Throughout Top Shelf, Boyd goes way beyond that platform to a place that even his fans might not have anticipated. Top Shelf is a musical kaleidoscope - a whirl of celebration, heartbreak, the sweet pain of love, and the comfort of faith’s embrace. Boyd also co-penned “Better Together” on this latest release. From the buoyant “Stuck In My Head” to the dirty sound of “We Sweat,” Boyd presents himself as an artist of complex dimension, never satisfied with repeating himself but always true to his roots.

TOP SHELF TRACK LISTING:

1. Stuck In My Head
2. Somewhere In There
3. She’s Killing Me
4. Wild Ways
5. We Sweat
6. Everywhere You Go
7. Sweet Temptation
8. Better Together
9. Hold Me Up
10. Only In My Mind
11. Interlude
12. Presence of the Lord
13. Sweet Temptation Mini Jam

During his rise to fame, Boyd’s “My Baby’s Got A Smile on Her Face” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, becoming the second song (following Garth Brooks’ “More Than A Memory”) to achieve that level of chart success.

Growing up in the Dallas, Texas suburb of Mesquite, Boyd’s childhood was highly influenced by gospel and country music and he later became the choir director at his hometown church. After a trip to Nashville, life-changing events came his way. Boyd signed a publishing deal with EMI and after several years of prolific songwriting, he began touring heavily, logging more than 1,000 shows in four years, and toured with acts like Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Brantley Gilbert. In addition, Boyd also played with Rascal Flatts during their Vegas Riot! nine-show residency at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas.

Currently, Boyd is criss-crossing the country visiting radio stations before the release of Top Shelf. For more information on Craig Wayne Boyd, follow him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

EXCLUSIVE JAMBOREE IN THE HILLS INTERVIEW: SHANE OWENS

EVENT: Jamboree in the Hills
DATE: Friday July 14, 2017
INTERVIEWER: Charlie Woods

Follow Charlie on Twitter at @ConvictCharlie

Charlie Woods, one of our favorite contributing team members, is a regular at Jamboree in the Hills for us. He had a chance to catch up with country newcomer, Shane Owens and talk about his latest single, "19" and just find out a little more about who he is as an artist and a person. If you aren't familiar with Shane's music, you should get to know him. He's very genuine, humble, believes in tradition and respects the country music genre. A huge thanks to Craig Wilkins for supplying the photos used in this article. Craig is a longtime photographer of this event. Check out his website at craigwilkins.com for great photos and content!

Charlie: What was it like to have Randy Travis as part of your "Country Never goes out of Style" music video? (Click here to watch the video)

Shane: It was unbelievable!  He's always been one of my heroes, and I deeply appreciate that a hall of fame legend loves my songs and wanted to be a part of such an important part of my life.

Charlie: You recently released a single, "19", which was written by Jeffrey Steele, Tom Hambridge and Gary Nicholson. The song is about a 19 year old hometown football player who joins the military in the wake of the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center and chronicles his service and ultimate sacrifice. You're giving back to the military through this song. Can you discuss the program and who it benefits?

Shane: It's called the "Taps" Organization, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. It's a support camp for military families that provides them with counseling and the assistance they need.  All of the proceeds from the single are being donated directly to the program.

Charlie: You've always had a very firm belief in tradition. Because of that, do you find it difficult being a unique artist at this day in age?

Shane: I firmly believe that when it comes to country music, the style pendulum is swinging back towards traditional now. Currently, 16-18 year olds are listening to a lot more traditional records.

Charlie: A friend of a friend (Jack Byrd) from your hometown has been following your career since the very beginning. Can you explain what it was like going from playing at a little club like The Office Lounge in your area to singing on stage at The Grand Ole Opry?

Shane: Playing at the hole in the wall honky tonks has helped me to develop into the country music artist that I am today. You don't start out in country music for the money, you do it for the passion and the love of the genre. Those opportunities lead me to the life that I live today.

Charlie: People may not know this, but you're a twin. What was it like growing up being a twin?

Shane: It was great!  We are actually fraternal twins, meaning we didn't look alike at all.  My twin sister is 4" shorter than me, but despite that we'll always be connected in a way most people can't understand.  When she hurts, I hurt... for example, she was in a bad car accident 6 years ago, and the moment it happened I experienced a horrible, unexplainable pain. Didn't know what it was until an hour later I got the call.

Charlie: If you could have dinner with 3 country music legends, who would you choose and what would you talk to them about?

Shane: I'd love to ask Johnny Paycheck why he was so wild!!!  And George Jones and Merle Haggard, they've been a huge inspiration to me over the years.

JAMBOREE IN THE HILLS SET LIST

1.) "Honky Tonk Girl"
2.) "I'll Sit Right Here and Drink" (Merle Haggard cover)
3.) "All the Beer in Alabama"
4.) "Chicken Truck" (John Anderson cover)
5.) "Working Man"
6.) "19" ( Cool note: Shane removed his hat in respect for this song. HUGE KUDOS!)
7.) "All My Rowdy Friends" (Hank Williams, Jr. cover)

Thanks to Shane for squeezing us into his tight schedule before his performance. It's always great to sit down with new artists.

RHONDA VINCENT AND DARYLE SINGLETARY TEAM UP ON NEW DUETS ALBUM, "AMERICAN GRANDSTAND": EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Album Features 12 Traditional Country Tracks Including Lead Single, “One”

Purchase "American Grandstand" here or at digital outlets such as iTunes.

Rhonda Vincent, who The Wall Street Journal dubbed “The New Queen of Bluegrass,” has teamed up with country music superstar Daryle Singletary for their newly released duets album, "American Grandstand" which was released today, July 7. The project delivers honest and real traditional country music with a unique American twist. This is a must have for any country music fan.

“I’ve always loved singing with Daryle Singletary. He’s one of the greatest singers in this generation of country music,” said Vincent. “It’s so fun to sing with someone who challenges me as a singer. The songs were given great thought, along with one that was totally unexpected. It’s one of the best projects I’ve ever been part of. I am so proud of this recording, and I cannot wait for the world to hear our wonderful creation, American Grandstand.”

The lead single, “One,” offers the very first taste of American Grandstand. The slow love song takes fans on a musical journey. The track may sound familiar, as it was previously made famous by country legends George Jones and Tammy Wynette, whose demanding vocal duets helped propel both acts to superstardom. Singletary and Vincent first performed “One” together at the legendary Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium in April of 2016. Due to the overwhelming response, the dynamic pair chose to add the track to American Grandstand.

Standout songs include the title track, which was written by Vincent. When Vincent and Singletary were first trying to think of a title, American Grandstand stood out, which by definition is “to behave or speak in a way that is intended to impress people and to gain public approval.” This isn’t Vincent’s first venture into country music, as her previous Grammy-nominated studio album Only Me featured a combination of six traditional country songs and six bluegrass tracks, featuring “We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds,” which is also included on American Grandstand.

“Rhonda and I have been singing together since my first CD on Giant Records in 1994. I've been a fan of Rhonda's singing before that, but since then for sure and it's obvious as she has sung on most of my Indie records as a background vocalist or a duet partner,” said Daryle Singletary. “If you love traditional country music, and remember songs originally sung by well-known duet partners like George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, and Merle Haggard and Bonnie Owens, this is a must-have CD that we are extremely excited about.”

Listen below as Rhonda and Daryle discuss one of the songs on the album, "As We Kiss Our World Goodbye":

You can experience both Singletary and Vincent together as they play select shows later this year. The full tour schedule can be found here. Dates with Singletary will be noted as they are added.

American Grandstand Track Listing:

JUST IN TIME FOR JULY 4TH 'THE LEE GREENWOOD COLLECTION' AVAILABLE NOW IN KIRKLAND'S, HOBBY LOBBY AND SELECT RETAILERS NATIONWIDE

America’s patriot and Grammy®-winning artist, Lee Greenwood, is celebrating the release of ‘The Lee Greenwood Collection’ in Kirkland’s, Hobby Lobby and select retailers nationwide. ‘The Lee Greenwood Collection,’ in partnership with Trade Cie, LLC, includes patriotic home decor with some of Greenwood’s iconic “God Bless the U.S.A” lyrics.

“So many veterans, military families and just all around patriotic fans have told me how lyrics like “I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free” or ‘The Flag still stands for freedom” truly mean to them. So, we took those words and created some beautiful pieces that exemplify that song. I’m really proud of this collection and hope it brings a sense of warmth and patriotism to your home,” Greenwood said.

Greenwood, who was recently named one of Billboard's 100 Greatest Country Artists of All Time, performed during President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Previously, Greenwood sang during President Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush’s ceremonies.

SHANE OWENS' NEW SINGLE "19" IMPACTING COUNTRY RADIO NOW

Owens' "Country Never Goes Out Of Style" Featured in Season 3 of NETFLIX Original Series “The Ranch"

Shane Owens’ patriotic tribute song, “19” will pull at your heartstrings. Arguably one of the best written songs about our military, the lyrics are a sobering reminder of the dangers our military members face every day. Click here to purchase “19.”

Fans of Owens can also catch his song “Country Never Goes Out of Style” in Season 3 of the Netflix original series “The Ranch”, starring Ashton Kutcher, streaming June 16.

“19” tells the story of a local football star signing up for the military straight out of high school following the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. In the end he pays the ultimate sacrifice as the song alludes to a life cut short. Written by Jeffrey Steele, Tom Hambridge and Gary Nicholson the song brings to life an important message about the true American heroes, rarely heard on the radio today.

The song is connecting with audiences everywhere, getting high praise from military families. Nearly every live performance of “19” has Owens’ hearing another story of personal loss reminding us this story is being lived out in cities and small towns all over this country.

Here is a recent excerpt from a letter Owens received from a Gold Star widow:

"It's the song, "19" that helps the listeners to remember there are those who are willing to give up high prospects and opportunities in life to serve for our nation and her freedoms! As a person living overseas in a US Army community and the widow of a fallen Soldier, I have daily reminders of the fine folks who serve and the families who sacrifice every day in the service of our nation and her people. Shane, your song reminds the high percentage of other Americans, who sometimes don't have the daily reminder, to remember and be thankful! Thank you Shane Owens for singing and helping keep the memory alive of the fallen while being a positive reminder of the sacrifices of our freedoms as Americans”

-  Nickayla Myers-Garner, Army widow living in Hohenfels, Germany.

The Neo-traditional country singer is always looking for ways to support our military. Owens is donating 100% of net proceeds of this single to the TAPS organization. The TAPS organization offers help, hope, and healing to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in America’s Armed Forces. Owens recently performed “19” on Fox & Friends over Memorial Day weekend as a tribute to our service men and women, and to highlight the TAPS partnership. Click here to watch his performance.

WANDA JACKSON SET TO PERFORM ON THE GRAND OLE OPRY THIS WEEKEND

One of music’s most enduring and beloved recording artists will be returning to a familiar stage this weekend, as Wanda Jackson makes a rare appearance on the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday, June 17.

"I've listened to the Grand Ole Opry since I was a small girl. It's really nice going back to be on the Opry stage. I look forward to performing Saturday night," said Jackson.

Jackson's debut performance on the Opry stage took place in the 1950s at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. This will be her first appearance on the show since 2011, when she appeared with Rock and Roll artist Jack White of The White Stripes.

A native of Maud, Oklahoma, Jackson has enjoyed success in a wide variety of formats, perhaps being best-known for being billed as one of the earliest female pioneers of rockabilly. “Hot Dog! That Made Him Mad” and “Let’s Have A Party” were two of her earliest hits in this vein. The latter was also recorded by Elvis Presley, whom Jackson briefly dated in the late 1950s. She scored with cross-over hits such as “Right Or Wrong” and “In The Middle Of A Heartache,” which were Top 30 hits on both the Billboard Country charts, as well as the Hot 100.

A 1963 album, Two Sides Of Wanda, helped to further introduce her to Country fans. The Grammy-nominated disc foreshadowed many hits in the format for Jackson in the 1960s and 1970s, including “The Box It Came In” and “Tears Will Be The Chaser For Your Wine.” She also enjoyed several hits in the gospel field for Word and Myrrh Records.

In recent years, appreciation of Jackson and her music have grown to include multiple generations. She is a member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, of which she became a member in April 2009. She was named as one of CMT’s 40 Greatest Women In Country Music during a 2002 special, and was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance from the Americana Music Honors and Awards by White in 2010. White produced her 2011 disc, The Party Ain’t Over, which earned rave reviews from critics, as well as guest shots on such programs as Conan and The Late Show with David Letterman.

Jackson continues to perform and record, working on a new album, set for release later in 2017. She collaborated with Pistol Annies member Angaleena Presley on “Good Girl Down,” which appears on Presley’s newest album, Wrangled. Presley will also be making an appearance on the Opry Saturday evening.

BILLY RAY CYRUS CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF "ACHY BREAKY HEART" WITH REISSUE

It started out as a simple two-chord song with one verse and chorus, and ended up becoming a worldwide phenomenon that topped charts around the globe and made a superstar out of a boy from Flatwoods, Kentucky. “Achy Breaky Heart,” the multi-million selling country single that pretty much launched the 90’s line dance craze, is undoubtedly one of the most history-making songs in all of country music history. The song created a sensation upon its release 25 years ago, and now the artist who made it a smash, Billy Ray Cyrus, is releasing a brand new version of the song with a host of different versions and guest artist appearances, including Ronnie Milsap on keyboard, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the release of the original. The new cut was recorded in Muscle Shoals and co-produced by Cyrus and Don Von Tress, the writer of the quintessential hit.

Cyrus sees plenty of parallels in the world at that time and now, and felt like it would be a good time to go back in and re-record the feel-good smash that had everybody’s hips shaking and feet moving to its groove.

“When the song was released in the spring of ‘92 the world, believe it or not, felt much like it does right now,” said Cyrus. “There were wars and rumors of wars. Famine and darkness was revealing itself much around the globe. People were divided. And politically it felt as crazy across America as it does now. Basically, it felt like a good time for a happy song. Something simple that everyone could sing and yes, even dance to. Take your mind off all the heavy stuff for 3 minutes and 27 seconds!”

The new version of “Achy Breaky” is actually a little closer to writer Don Von Tress’ original vision and sound for the song that he penned over a quarter decade ago. “We went back to my original demo which was a little more back in the pocket, and Billy really loved the demo all those years ago and he said ‘Yeah, let’s try to emulate this thing,” recalls Von Tress of recording the new version. “So we kind of did that, but with some new twists. The song is so simple...it’s two chords and some nursery rhyme verses really, so we created something again we both just really love, and it’s just fun to have the opportunity to put this song out again for people to really enjoy again. I really hope they love it as much as the first time!”

For Cyrus, revisiting the hit that made him a worldwide superstar and laying down the track provided a real full circle moment in a career that has no doubt had plenty of memorable highlights.

“For me personally it completed the body of work known as Some Gave All and a decade of persistence, dedication, failure, successes and a will to strive for purpose through the music,” said Cyrus. “A journey which led to a moment in time that just fit. Not to mention a friendship and musical soul mate that would last a lifetime. For you see, I had written "Some Gave All" about a Vietnam Veteran I met in 1989. Don Von Tress, himself a Vietnam Vet, walks into my life with what will become the cornerstone and launch pad for an album that represents a singer/songwriter from the Appalachian foothills of Eastern KY who had a dream and vision of touching peoples’ lives through music. Nothing more...nothing less. Full circle if you will.”
