SINGLE REVIEW: "RED" BY ASH BOWERS

There are those artists that make you scratch your head and wonder why you haven't heard more from them.  Ash Bowers is one of those artists. Ash puts the twang where it should be and combines the rock with the roll. His latest single, "Red" is a song that has already made it's way onto the playlists of country music fans, now it's ready to infiltrate the playlists of country radio. Even if your neck isn't red, it will be once this one gets stuck in your head. You'll find yourself building wedding cakes out of Twinkies and looking for an out of commission Camaro to display on blocks in your yard while dandelions grow out of the bumper. This song just has that something that makes you wanna dance like you don't care whose watching and shake the pure hell out of your moneymaker. His previous label, Stoney Creek, just couldn't get radio to do anything other than nibble with his previous singles but Wide Open Music Group is bound and determined to make radio bite and to make sure you hear the country magic that is Ash Bowers and so far, it's working. In a musical world of cookie cutter songs about trucks, and tan lines, Ash brings it back to basics, just good old country rock with a little Southern influence and a story to tell. We love it and the digital download sales show you love it. The Highway on SiriusXM has already picked it up and is getting great response as are other FM stations nationwide. Call your local station and let them know, if they don't already, that "Red" is a song that is ready to be heard on their station.

Growing up in a working-class family in Jackson, Tennessee, Ash Bowers would need a lot more than dreams to make it to the country music capital 130 miles east on I-40. It would require determination, which Bowers found as he cut his teeth playing open mic nights; leading him to put a band together and eventually hitting the road with one of country music's biggest stars, Jason Aldean.

His dream would also require commitment, which came easy for the husband and father of two, as he traveled 260 miles a day to Nashville for writing appointments and rehearsals, discovering his voice and love for songwriting along the way.  These requirements guided Bowers to make some very valuable and influential friends in the industry and over time, inspired Bowers to write a full album worth of songs that are currently found on his upcoming Wide Open Records album debut.

When it came to choosing his first single to be released from the new album, Bowers saw "Red."  "The first time my buddy Adam played 'Red' for me, I instantly connected to the lyrics.  It's the first song we picked for the album and a song I can't believe I didn't write myself," says Bowers. "'Red' is an upbeat, rockin' song with big guitar solos. It's a lot of fun to perform and I hope people love it as much as I do."

"Red" was written by Adam Craig, Derek George and Tim Owens, and was co-produced by Bowers and Billy Decker.

Ash Bowers' untitled debut album is set to be released in spring of 2013 on Wide Open Records. For more information on Ash Bowers, visit www.ashbowers.com
